The premise
The room the internet never built.
I kept noticing the same thing. The people I most wanted to hear from were usually the least interested in performing online. Good conversations were happening in private messages, late dinners, long walks, and small rooms, then disappearing.
Club Halden is my attempt to give those conversations a permanent home. Ideas get tested, businesses get discussed honestly, and your reputation comes from what you bring into the room. Not your follower count. Not how loudly you can speak.

Members can open the books on what they are building: decisions, numbers, mistakes, hires, pricing, growth. The kind of conversation people usually save for a trusted friend.

Private dinners, small meetups, and salons. The online club should eventually lead somewhere physical. You should know the people behind the names, and sit across from them once in a while.

I am keeping the first cohort intentionally small. I want founders, creators, and independent thinkers who are in the middle of building something and who still enjoy thinking carefully about the world around them. I care more about the chemistry of the room than filling every seat.

Founding members will have access to the weekly question, Reading Room discussions, operator briefs from inside real businesses, thoughtful member introductions, private gatherings, and the member platform and directory. In-person tables will begin in New York and expand city by city, with private gatherings wherever the right members are. Virtual salons will keep the room connected between them. Founding terms stay with you for as long as your membership remains active. I read the applications for the person, not the title.

From the founder
The room I couldn’t find.
I am nineteen, so I grew up with most of my friendships, work, ideas, and attention passing through the internet. I love what it made possible, but I also started to feel how strange it had become. The people I respected most were often the people posting the least. The conversations I remembered were almost never happening in public.
That is why I started Club Halden. I wanted one place where a founder could talk plainly about what is going wrong, where someone could bring an idea before it was polished, and where disagreement did not have to become a performance. I would rather build a room thirty people care deeply about than one a million people scroll past. If that sounds like a room you have been looking for too, send in an application.
